George Moore and Moore Hall

Moore Hall

See Moore Hall in Carnacon, Ballyglass, on the shores of Lough Carra in Co. Mayo. This was the home of George Moore, novelist and short story writer. The house was burnt down during the civil war in Ireland in 1923. I will be discussing Moore, his life and his short story ‘In The Clay’ tonight as part of my new program Irish Literature: From Death to Life.

SCHOOLBOY LAUNCHES NOVEMBER 15th

I am delighted to announce the launch of my 5th book, Schoolboy, on 15th November 2023 by Penniless Press, UK. You can now pre-order the title below.

About Schoolboy

At top of a hill, a schoolboy awaits the battered yellow school bus that will bring him to his first day of secondary school. He is full of hopes, dreams and excitement, sporting a beret and pony-tail, along with a fresh blue uniform. He tries to ignore his tearful mother looking on from the window. He does not know the bus carries a diverse cast of villains, with a catalogue of tactics to relieve the tedium of teenage angst far removed from today’s sanitised contemporary world. Schoolboy is published by Penniless Press Publications, UK.
