The Lodger checks in!

I am delighted to announce the publication of my 7th book and 4th novel, The Lodger, this month.

The Lodger tells the story of Mac, who lives with his landlord ‘The Monk’ and several other figures  in the sparse home of Chez Vous, Coyne Road in a small west of Ireland town, just before the arrival of the internet.

This title is now available in the shop and world wide online and the title can be ordered at any bookshops. Many thanks again for your support of literary fiction!

I am thrilled to continue my long association with my UK publisher, Penniless Press who have presented my work to the world since 2018.

More about Felicity & Granny Bridget

Felicity Dempsey has been immersed in the scientific world all her working life. On retirement a couple of years ago, she challenged herself to explore her creative side! She enrolled in a creative writing school and over the last 2 years has been developing her writing craft. Although she originally wanted to write her family memoirs, she discovered she really enjoyed writing stories for children. With the encouragement and support of the course director at MKCW and some inspiration from her grandchildren, she started to write a collection of four stories about a magical granny and her two young grandsons. She has previously had two short stories published in The Ocean magazine and is currently working on a screenplay adaptation. Granny Bridget’s Fairy Tales follows the amazing adventures of  the magical Granny Bridget and her grandsons Jamie and Danny in a wonderful collection for 7-10 year old readers and all ages.

George Moore and Moore Hall

Moore Hall

See Moore Hall in Carnacon, Ballyglass, on the shores of Lough Carra in Co. Mayo. This was the home of George Moore, novelist and short story writer. The house was burnt down during the civil war in Ireland in 1923. I will be discussing Moore, his life and his short story ‘In The Clay’ tonight as part of my new program Irish Literature: From Death to Life.
